NotesFr. Diego de Cera de la Virgen del Carmen started to build the organ in 1816. He placed the bamboos under the sand of the seashore for more than a year to conserve them from insects. Fr. Cera worked for six years building it. During the years many repairs were done, the latest of which was in 1943 when two Spanish technicians, Carmelo and Jose Loinaz, restored the organ. A huge Spanish imperial crown is at the top. (also see CH01110) YYY
